We provide to piano students of all ages a high-quality music education in an engaging and nurturing environment that promotes a life-long love for music and music-making. Piano lessons are customized to meet the individual needs of each student, from beginning to advanced.
The primary areas of study in piano lessons include:
- Reading music notation
- Developing appropriate technique (the physical mechanics of playing piano)
- Music analysis (music theory - the "grammar" of how music is put together)
If a student is preparing for a recital, then more time might be spent on learning a specific piece of music. We host regular recitals that give students a chance to experience performing in front of an audience. It's always amazing to see how much more gets accomplished when a performance is coming up!
Our goal is to make music and education fun and exhilarating, while still providing a structured learning approach that's necessary to achieve tangible results and help realize students' musical talents and dreams.
Recent studies have shown that grade school children who took piano lessons for three years scored higher than their peers on tests of general and spatial cognitive development--the very faculties needed for performance in math and engineering. Taking piano lessons and playing the piano also significantly reduces anxiety, depression and loneliness and at the same time strengthens hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
